Hearing Tests (Audiometric Evaluations)

An audiometric evaluation (hearing test) determines your hearing ability as well as the presence and location of conditions and/or abnormalities that may affect hearing or balance.

Our comprehensive hearing test consists of testing with both speech and pure tones. Pure tone testing determines the amount of hearing loss for volume and helps to determine the type of hearing loss. Speech discrimination testing estimates the loss of hearing pertaining to the fine-tuning ability of the ear.

Live Speech Mapping

Live Speech Mapping places 'real speech', with its continuously fluctuating amplitude and spectral characteristics, in the patient's preferred listening range. Live Speech Mapping tests and maps your hearing and speech. You hear your voice the way it sounds through your spouse or family member's ears.

Video Otoscopy

One of the most advanced diagnostic tools used by audiologists in the detection of abnormalities of the ear is the Video Otoscope. It shows you on a TV monitor exactly what is going on inside the ear canal, often times finding wax build-up or skin debris, which is one of the most common causes of hearing aid failure. It can also show us whether there is damage to the eardrum or ear canal.
